About

Bob Farese, Jr., is a physician and scientist whose work bridges medicine and cell biology. At leading institutions including UCSF, Harvard, and Memorial Sloan Kettering, his scientific research has illuminated fundamental processes of biology and physiology that underlie diseases of metabolism and neurodegeneration.

In recent years, Farese has turned his creative focus to photography. His first photobook, Am I Not Light, captured the emotions of arrival and belonging through images and verse. A Perfect Medium will be his second book.

Farese splits his time between the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City and finds constant inspiration in the love and support of his wife and family, as well as the rhythms of friendships, music, sports, and the natural world.
